Less than a month of the final release of firefox 4, Mozilla introduced Aurora, a new experimental version of Firefox 5. The aim is to test the new features in greater number of users that nightly versions.
Usually beta versions of Firefox have a fair number changes from the first trial. Therefore, Aurora function as mediator between the first version and the pre-release. Mozilla's intention is Beta version that retains many characteristics of Aurora for the changes are not so radical.

Of course, this change is part of Mozilla's intention to accelerate the process of updating your browser. At this rate, predicting the end of the year with the release of Firefox 7 seems quite viable.
